Thailand's southern city of Hat Yai to the capital of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur and has now been extended all the way down to Johor Bahru, the gateway to Singapore.

If you are using this train to get from Hat Yai to Langkawi, you can find details of ferry times and fares on the following pages :
You would however, be better off travelling on the early morning International Express Train number 35 if you want to go to Langkawi Island without having to spend the night at the ferry terminals.
