The KTM Electric Train Service (ETS) from Ipoh to Kuala Lumpur operates many times a day and is a quick and easy way to travel between the the state capital of Perak and the capital of Malaysia.
Easily the quickest way to travel from Ipoh to KL, trains depart from Ipoh Railway Station to either KL Sentral Railway Station or you can disembark at the old KL Station (Terminal KTM).

There are three different types of train service on the KTM Ipoh to KL Sentral ETS route:
- Silver (stops at all station)
- Gold (limited stops)
- Platinum (even less stops).
The duration of the train journey from Ipoh to KL Sentral is a little over two and a half hours - depending on which service you travel on.

Silver Service: RM25 (Adult) - RM17 (Child)
Gold Service: RM36 (Adult) - RM22 (Child)
Platinum Service: RM46 (Adult) - RM27 (Child)
Please note: Now KTM have a Flexi Fare booking system for buying tickets, prices will vary slightly from those shown above depending on how far in advance you book and if you are travelling during Peak or Off-Peak times.
Tickets can be purchased at the station or if you prefer you can book advance tickets online direct from the KTM website or from an online train ticket agent.
