Below you will find links to the KTM Intercity / Shuttle Train timetable for trains from the north to the south.
KTM Berhad (Malaysian railways) has now cancelled Intercity Express trains from Hat Yai in southern Thailand and from all stations on the new dual track electric line north of Gemas in Malaysia.
All long distance trains north of Gemas will now be operated by the newer Electric Train Services (ETS) which are much faster than the older diesel trains.
Trains between Gemas and Johor Bahru will be operated by a new Shuttle Train Service to connect to the ETS departures and arrivals at Gemas.
A new Gemas to JB timetable will be in place from 1st February 2017.
Shuttle Trains from JB Sentral in Johor Bahru to Woodlands Station in Singapore run many times a day in either direction and cost 5 RM from JB to Woodlands and 5 SGD in the opposite direction.
If you wish to use these trains we recommend you book them in advance as they are very popular with commuters travelling to Singapore for work.
Another Intercity Train you can catch in Malaysia is the International Express from Bangkok to Butterworth Penang (now terminating at the Malaysian / Thai border at Padang Besar).
This train is not operated by Malaysian Railways but by the State Railways of Thailand (SRT).
Inside Malaysia, you can book your KTM Intercity and Shuttle train tickets from any main KTM railway station up to 60 days in advance.
Advance booking for these KTMB services is highly recommended as they often sell out during busy times of the year.
