KTM Komuter Ipoh to Bukit Mertajam / Butterworth timetable (jadual) for the Komuter Utara (northern commuter) line between Perak and Penang state in Malaysia.
These commuter services are a very cheap way to travel from Perak state to Penang state, changing at Bukit Mertajam for further Komuter services north to the Thai border, or more services to Butterworth.

If you want to travel to stations north into the states of Kedah and Perlis (all the way to the Thai border at Padang Besar), you can change trains at Bukit Mertajam to connect to the other Northern Commuter train route.
Usually, the timing between departures is just a few minutes, but at some times the wait can be quite a bit longer, so check the timetables carefully to make sure you can make the best connections.
Changing trains at Bukit Mertajam, you can take a cheap commuter train north to:
Tasek Gelugor, Sungai Petani, Gurun, Kobah, Alor Setar, Anak Bukit, Kodiang, Arau, Bukit Ketri and Padang Besar (the Malaysia / Thailand border train station).

From Padang Besar, you can connect to Shuttle trains to Hat Yai in southern Thailand, or take a bus to Hat Yai from the main land border crossing.
