Catching a bus to Batu Ferringhi is cheap and departures are fairly frequent throughout the day.
You can catch a bus from the airport, the jetty, Chulia Street, KOMTAR and many places in between.

Bus from Penang Airport to Batu Ferringhi
From Penang International Airport to Batu Ferringhi is a distance of 31 km on bus 102 which departs to and from the airport every 60 to 80 minutes.
The first bus from the airport departs at 06:00 and the last at 23:15.
In the other direction, the first bus leaves Teluk Bahang at 06:15, the last at 23:00.
Tickets cost RM 4.00.

Bus to Batu Ferringhi from George Town
Bus from Chulia Street to Batu Ferringhi
You can catch bus 101 from Chulia Street opposite the 7-Eleven all the way to the beach at Batu Ferringhi 17 km away by bus.
Buses run every 10 - 20 minutes from 05:30 in the morning, with the last bus back into town at 23:20 at night. Current fares for this trip is RM 2.70
Bus from the Jetty to Batu Ferringhi
From the jetty where the ferry from Butterworth to Penang terminates, you can catch bus 101 out to the beach.
The 101 departs from the left-hand side of the bus station as you come off the ferry and leaves every 10 to 20 minutes.
Distance to Batu Ferringhi from the jetty is 18km and
tickets cost RM 2.70.
Bus from KOMTAR to Batu Ferringhi
From KOMTAR Bus Station it is 16km to the beach and bus 101 comes in every 10 to 20 minutes along the end of the first lane of the bus station under the KOMTAR building.
Just look for the clearly marked sign.
This is where most people will get on the bus so you may find yourself standing for part of the journey out to Batu Ferringhi.
Tickets for this journey are RM 2.70
Bus from Gurney Drive to Batu Ferringhi
From just off of Gurney Drive, you can catch a bus out to Batu Ferringhi from the main road.
Both buses 101 and 102 stop at the bus stop just a short walk away from the western end of Gurney Drive.
From here it is 10.5 km to Batu Ferringhi and the fare is RM 2.00.
Buses come along every 10 to
20 minutes.
