If you are travelling from KL to Langkawi by train, you will have to take a taxi to the ferry terminal at Kuala Perlis from Arau station. A taxi to the jetty will cost you around 25 RM.
You could also take a bus, but it will take much longer, as you first have to get a bus to Kangar, then another from there to the Jetty.
An alternative way to travel from KL to Langkawi is to take a bus from KL to Kuala Perlis bus station (located just a few minutes walk away from the ferry terminal).
